Illegalcord desktop injection is managed by the repository scripts. Use those scripts before trying manual file edits.

Remove desktop injection

From the repository root:
Then fully quit and relaunch Discord. The Illegalcord Settings section should no longer appear.

Repair desktop injection

If Discord updated, injection partially failed, or the settings section disappeared, run:
Then restart Discord.

Reinstall from source

If you want a clean rebuild:
Restart Discord after the injector finishes.

Remove generated output

Generated files live in dist. You can delete old build output and rebuild:
Do not edit dist by hand. Fix source files, then rebuild.

Back up or remove settings

Use Illegalcord Settings > Backup & Restore before deleting settings. Export:
  • All settings.
  • Plugin settings.
  • QuickCSS.
  • DataStore data.
The main settings tab has Open Settings Folder on supported desktop builds. Use that button to locate local settings data for your installation.
Deleting local settings is irreversible unless you exported a backup first.

Web extension cleanup

For web builds, remove the loaded extension from your browser’s extension management page. Then rebuild with:
Load the new output from dist if you want to reinstall the web target.
